Her insistence that ordinary tasks be carried out with care and excellence provided a model which is still relevant today. Logo launched for 200th anniversary of opening of first House of Mercy
Mercy International Association (MIA) has launched the official logo for the 200th anniversary of the Founding of Catherine McAuley's First House of Mercy at 64a Lower Baggot Street, Dublin in 1827. The anniversary logo is rich in historical and symbolic meaning. The logo kit with copyright information, brand guidelines and recommended usage, will be available from MIA in early March.

Catherine McAuley

Catherine McAuley was born in Dublin, Ireland, in September, 1778. In 1824 she used her inheritance from an Irish couple she had served for twenty years to build a large House of Mercy on Baggot Street, Dublin in response to the needs of the poor of Dublin. Today that house is known as Mercy International Centre and is home to the Mercy family from all over the world.
