Catherine believed in authority and leadership that was life-giving and liberating. With great trust in her Sisters, Catherine readily applied the principles of collegiality and subsidiarity long before these became the widely used terms that they are now. She freely sought advice of all in the community, shared information with them and involved them in decision making.
