In May 2005 the mercyFirst Youth Choir released its first CD. The self-titled release was made possible through funding from Claudia Grammatico and the Grammatico fund, established in 1999 in memory of Claudia’s son Paul P. Grammatico.
Claudia Grammatico explains, “I have learned so many valuable Life Lessons as the CD was created, recorded and became a reality! It has been my honor and privilege to get to know, respect and enjoy all the members of the choir in addition to Robyn Blue, the choral director.” The CD features two original songs written by Claudia in memory of her son;The Gifts of Life and Love andLas Ofrendas de la Vida y del Amor. She says, “I see my Son/Sun Paul live, grow, resonate and educate through the choir and their rendition of my songs. To see them so proud of their accomplishment is a treasured gift of no value!”
The CD features two additional tracksWake up Everybody andAmerica, The Beautiful. The mercyFirst Youth Choir is comprised of boys and girls from mercyFirst’s group homes and Syosset Campus. To order a copy of the CD, please call 516.921.0808, ext. 114.
