Come, let us gather under the star in Bethlehem where all are welcome.
Let us ask forgiveness for our blindness, cowardice and hardness of heart.
Let us reverence all persons and all creation.
Let us share our gifts, our longings and our hearts.
Sisters of Mercy of the Americas

O word Made Flesh
There are signs of your coming, signs of your continued presence
everywhere in our lives
Freshen up our vision so that we can recognize your dwelling within us as we move hurriedly in this busy season of the year.
May our lives be filled with love for all those who come our way. Amen.

Hello Sisters of Mercy...whoever is reading this...ones I know and ones I don't...
How lovely to send greetings to women I don't personally know, but with whom I share the great field of compassion that is particularly Mercy, and to rejoice in the closeness of Mercies whom I know.
May we continue to be and to bring Mercy into our daily lives, moment by moment, as our spiritual energy grows even while our numbers diminish.
Christmas blessings, all,
Brenda Peddigrew, RSM (NL)

Dear Friends,

To all Sisters of Mercy and Associates around the world
As we approach another Christmas, we are again reminded that Jesus began his human existence as a vulnerable person, he remained vulnerable throughout his life and yet he changed the world. Catherine too experienced vulnerability but she too changed the world.
As we celebrate this Christmas, let us find joy in who we are and what we do as followers of Jesus in the world in which we live. May each of us in the Mercy world enjoy this special time of year.

The angel said to the shepherds: I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people ... Luke 2:10.
I wish all our Mercy sisters a blessed Christmas and good health, peace and joy. May the message of the angel quoted above be fulfilled for each one of you. Especially may it be shared with all the suffering peoples in our world.

(Western Province, the Congregation)

Incarnate Word, in whom all nature lives,
cast flame upon the earth: raise up contemplatives
Among us, [those] who walk within the fire
of ceaseless prayer, impetuous desire.
(James McAuley, A Letter to John Dryden)
As we celebrate the mystery of these sacred days
may we receive from the God-child gifts of
wonder and contemplation,
simplicity,
trust,
gratitude and
deep, deep peace.
With our love and prayers
Nerida, Caroline and Karon and all at the Institute of Sisters of Mercy of Australia.
